We are committed to making your travel experience as seamless as possible. Flights, accommodations, and daily transportation have been coordinated to support families throughout the week. Below you’ll find important details about airfare, the host hotel, local transportation, and essential resources to help you prepare with confidence.

Air Travel

Hero Miles Ticket
Flights for participating families are coordinated through Fisher House's Hero Miles Program. Your designated Family Point of Contact (POC) will assist with booking, itineraries, and travel questions.

Hotel

Intercontinental San Antonio Riverwalk

The hotel is located on the riverwalk with onsite dining options, fitness facilities and an outdoor rooftop pool.

InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk

Families will stay at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk, located in the heart of downtown along the historic River Walk.

Transportation During the Week

Riverboat Transportation

Select venues are accessible via San Antonio River Walk boat transportation for families. This provides a scenic and efficient way to travel between designated locations.

Bus Transportation

Shuttle buses will operate between:

  • Host hotel
  • Competition venues
  • Designated event locations

Transportation schedules will align with competition times and major program events.


Walking Access

Many downtown locations are within walking distance of the hotel. Accessible routes and River Walk maps are available through San Antonio.

Laundry & Dry Cleaning

For a stay of a week or more, laundry will come up. The InterContinental does not offer a discounted rate for our group, but several services will pick up from the hotel and return your laundry clean and folded, and a few nearby laundromats are an easy rideshare away.

Pickup & Delivery

These services pick up from the hotel and return laundry clean, folded, and bagged — usually within 24 hours.

Flamingo Wash N Fold

Hotel pickup, next-day return. Downtown pickups Mon/Tue/Thu. $45 minimum (~20 lbs).

Hamperapp

App-based hotel-room pickup and delivery in San Antonio. Same-day and next-day options.

Whisk Laundry

Free pickup and delivery, six days a week, 7am–5pm. Coordinates with the front desk.

Bolt Laundry

Free pickup and delivery, 24-hour turnaround. Works with hotel front desks.

Press Cleaners

Seven days a week, app-based. Also handles dry cleaning — useful for ceremony attire.

Call Front Desk

Let the InterContinental front desk know a third-party service will be picking up or dropping off a bag for you. Attach a luggage tag with your name, room number, and phone number, and leave your bag with the bell stand. The hotel allows this — they just won’t arrange it on your behalf.

Self-Service Laundromats (tap to expand)

If you’d rather do your own laundry, these are the closest options — each a short rideshare from the hotel. Several also offer drop-off wash-and-fold.

  • Soap Laundry Lounge — 900 Oblate Dr (~15 min). Nicest option: modern, very clean, onsite coffee shop and café. A quiet place to step away.
  • The Laundry Express – Fredericksburg — 1110 Fredericksburg Rd (~10 min). Open 24 hrs, well rated, wash-and-fold available.
  • Speed Queen Laundry — 3118 W Woodlawn Ave (~10 min). Reliable chain, open 24 hrs.
  • E-Z Wash — W Gramercy Pl (~10 min). Local laundromat option.

  • Pickup/delivery services typically require a ~20 lb minimum (about $40–$60 per load).
